Zazie was born to a German cabinet maker from Berlin, Germany in the year 1991. She was born in Germany, Berlin. The mother of Zazie is an Social Worker of South Africa-American descent from New York. Jennifer Aniston attended the same high school as Beetz. Beetz continued in her French studies through Skidmore College, after graduating LaGuardia. The auditions began immediately following graduation from the college. In Atlanta Beetz was able to land the role of Van. Beetz is the daughter of a German father as well as an African American mom from Berlin, was raised in New York and spoke German as well as English. Zazie was performing on local and community stages in her early years. When she was in grade school she started acting, and eventually became a professional actor. Zendaya was able to land the Disney Channel breakout role thanks her impressive dancing skills. The year 2010 was the year that the actress and dancer finally scored her first major role, when Bella Thorne cast her as Rocky Blue. Zendaya, then 11, went vegetarian after seeing an animal slaughterhouse during the trip with her dad. She tells PEOPLE, "I thought it was horrible, seeing all the animals getting packed up inside the slaughterhouse, ready to be slaughtered. This was the method I was using to get my food shocked me. The woman has since adhered to a vegan diet.
