Madhuri dixit is famous Indian actress best known for her parts in the film Hum Aapke Koun. Following her marriage the actress took time away from performing until she returned. Dixit played an important role on Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit has received 15 Filmfare Awards nominations, of which she took home eight. Padma Shri is the fourth most prestigious civilian award in India. She is known for her charitable work as well.
