Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One baby was strapped on my back, while one crawled inside the playground. I worked 12 hour days over months of sanding, and taking wallpaper off, all and with just one child. Ha! The home was starting to look nice, but there were still many things that needed to be left. The house would need a great deal of effort and an enthusiasm of shopping. My three sons and me looked for treasures hidden attending estate sales in order to keep my spending under control. The routine we had for the week was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through estate sales and garage sales, buying vintage and modern pieces, as well as spending weekends painting and sanding the driveway. What I saw looked something similar to... that's when my passion to restore furniture was born. Once our home was furnished, I still couldn't give up! I had a stand on the local market, and sold pieces there. There were so many pieces I didn't know what to do and I outgrew my space. The house became a venue that I hosted open houses where up to 1000 visitors could see the items on the first floor, and then purchase the items. Growing Days was created in this home. While my company grew, so did our little family. As a young mom I was able to strike the right way to be able to begin my own company and being a decent mother. Growing Days just seemed to work. My precious Nora came into the world in 2013, which was our 4th child. My business's direction was excellent, however I was forced to get some down time. I took a pause from creating furniture for vintage homes, and I slowed down my speed to be at home to raise the children. That was exactly what I needed at that moment. After a few minutes the phone started to ring. A lot of people contacted me seeking advice about home improvement or decorating. The majority of them were those who had walked through my house during open house for furniture! It didn't seem long until I was managing a full-scale home renovation company. The first step was to take clients one by one in a manner that I could be comfortable with. If you had told me that my business would be the premise for a DIY Network show, I likely would have been astonished. Actually I still kind of amused when I think of it.
